KENT — The Everett Silvertips finished off their preseason schedule on a high Saturday night, defeating the Seattle Thunderbirds 4-1.
Tyler Sandhu and Brayden Low each had a goal and an assist to lead Everett, which ended the preseason with a four-game winning streak — three of those victories coming against Seattle.
Matt Fonteyne and Carson Stadnyk also scored for Everett, which jumped out to a 3-0 lead late in the second period and polished it off with Low’s late empty-net goal. The Tips finished the preseason 5-2.
Nik Amundrud started the game in goal for the Tips and earned the win, turning aside all 11 shots he faced. Carter Hart played the second half of the game and saved 11 of the 12 shots he saw.
Keegan Kolesar scored the lone goal for Seattle (3-4). Logan Flodell went the distance in goal for the T-birds, making 19 saves.
Low and Sandhu finished as Everett’s leading scorers during the preseason, with Low registering eight points (three goals, five assists) in six games and Sandhu notching seven points (three goals, four assists) in six contests. Amundrud finished as Everett’s top goaltender statistically during the preseason, going 2-1 with a 0.51 goals against average and .981 save percentage.
Everett opens the regular season against Seattle in Kent next Saturday.
