Scuttlebutt’s Hoptopia Imperial IPA takes silver in Japan

Hoptopia Imperial IPA from Everett’s Scuttlebutt Brewing was awarded the Silver Medal in the English Style IPA category at the International Beer Cup in Yokohama, Japan on Saturday.

Hoptopia was the only product Scuttlebutt entered and the silver medal was the highest medal awarded in the category.

“To win any medal, not to mention an international medal, is humbling and validation for all the hard work,” said Matt Stromberg, Scuttlebutt’s head brewer. “2014 has been a very good year for us!”

Considered the largest beer festival in Asia, the Great Japan Beer Festival judges 600 beers in 105 style categories from different countries. Attendance at this year’s festival exceeded 20,000.

Here’s a press release on the silver medal:

Scuttlebutt Takes Silver in Japan

Everett, WA — Scuttlebutt Brewing Company is proud to announce that its Hoptopia Imperial IPA was awarded the Silver Medal, in the English Style IPA category, at the International Beer Cup held in Yokohama, Japan.
