Weekend best bets: Circus, farm tour, beer, bugs, more

Super circus: The circus is in town Friday, Saturday and Sunday at XFinity Arena in Everett. See animals and performers from around the world. Read more in our story here. And while you’re there, check at the arena’s new food. They have a fancy new menu and you can read about that here.

Farm fun: Check out produce, wine, friendly farm animals and more on the Whidbey Island Farm Tour. It’s from 10 am. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and you can read about it here.

On the stage: The Edmonds Driftwood Players’ season begins on Friday with “Night Watch.” The play is a haunting thriller from its first bloodcurdling scream to its last heart-stopping surprise, according to the director. The show run Thursdays to Sundays through Oct. 5. Read about it in our story here.

Diversity: The Marysville Multicultural Fair is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Comeford Park, 514 Delta Ave., Marysville. Enjoy music and dance from around the world on stage in the Rotary Pavilion, experience traditions from other lands through demonstrations and displays, and enjoy the food court where tasty ethnic foods will be available for people to buy. Old times: Stillaguamish Valley Pioneer Museum’s Pioneer Days, with free admission, is 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the museum, 20722 67th Ave. NE, Arlington. Call 360-435-7289 or go here for more info.

Bug Blast: The Burke Museum on the UW campus offers a special day to learn about spiders and bugs, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Check out the live ant cam, look into a honeycomb with live bees, make fun crafts, touch live bugs, and taste buggy treats.

Fly high: Arlington Airport Appreciation Day is 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, at 18204 59th Ave. NE, Arlington. There will be free airplane rides for kids, flyovers, aircraft displays, helicopter tours, flight simulators, a bouncy house, airplane painting, face painting, tractor rides, bubble pool, ice cream and more.

Oktoberfest: Oktoberfest Monroe is Friday through Sunday at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe. Celebrate all things German with a Munich-inspired Festhalle Biergarten, authentic entertainment, including the famous hammerschlagen, and traditional German foods. Plenty of activities for kids. Open to all ages until 7 p.m. each night, after which it becomes a 21-and-over event. See what other Oktoberfests are coming up in our story here.

Historic: The Snohomish Historical Society’s home tour is from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Pick up tickets, $12-$15, at The Waltz Building, 116 Avenue B, Snohomish.

Fish: The Everett Coho Derby is Saturday and Sunday. Try to catch a monster coho and win prizes. Get the details here.

Weddings: A wedding expo is Saturday and Sunday at Xfinity Arena. There will be fashion shows and variety of wedding vendors. Get more info and tickets here.

Art: The Edmonds Art Studio Tour is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday throughout the Edmonds area. This free self-guided tour is a chance to visit 23 private studios displaying the work of 42 local artists. You can buy finished work, see new art being created or just visit and ask questions.
