Mosaic workshops
The city of Everett is hosting free mosaic workshops at the Everett Performing Arts Center’s Anderson Room at 11 a.m. and noon Saturday. Participants can create mosaic “medallions” that will be incorporated into the plaza’s mosaic wall.
The workshops will be led by Whidbey Island artist Linda Beaumont, who is installing the mosaic wall details. Each class can accommodate 30 to 35 participants and is suitable for anyone 8 or older. Participants from previous workshops are asked not to attend Saturday’s events to make room for new participants.
All supplies are provided, though participants are encouraged to bring a special memento to place in their mosaic, such as broken plates, teacups, brooches, beads, pearls, rings and buttons. Objects made of metal, porcelain and glass work especially well.
Seafood for horses: A Salmon and Seafood Festival fundraiser for All Breed Equine Rez-Q is set for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at 2415 116th St. NE, Marysville. RSVP to 425-263-6390.
Proceeds will help the equine shelter stock up on hay, feed, vitamins and medicine.
Meals will be served, with prices from $4 to $25. Entertainment includes a visit from the exotic animals of Forgotten Kingdom, a yard sale, coloring contest, silent auction and raffle.
