Looking at the snap counts from Sunday’s Seahawks-Broncos game

As always, the stat book from Sunday’s game was updated with snap counts Monday morning. Full numbers are below, but what stood out from the playing time numbers in Sunday’s game?

Offense

—TE Zach Miller, despite missing two days of practice last week, played his biggest role of the season, playing in 71 of 78 snaps.

—For the third straight week, Doug Baldwin (87 percent) and Jermaine Kearse (81 percent) saw the most playing time at receiver, with Percy Harvin playing 67 percent of the offensive plays.

—The Seahawks used fullback Derrick Coleman on 18 percent of their offensive plays, a more usual number than a week ago when he was on the field for just one play on offense.

—Ricardo Lockette played just eight snaps, but made the most if it, making an interception-saving play on the same drive that ended with him hauling in a 39-yard touchdown. Bryan Walters, meanwhile, played 10 snaps, but was target on five of them, catching two passes.

—Alvin Bailey played four snaps with Russell Okung in the locker room because of a shoulder injury.

Defense

—Three players—Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor and Byron Maxwell—played all 72 defensive snaps. Earl Thomas, who normally plays every down, was replaced by Jeron Johnson for five plays while getting an IV to stave off cramps.

—As has been the case in the previous two games, Michael Bennett played the most of Seattle’s D-linemen, appearing in 78 percent of the snaps, while Cliff Avril played 75 percent.

—As expected, O’Brien Schofield (57 percent of snaps) saw his role increase with Bruce Irvin sidelined.

—DE Cassius Marsh (28 percent), also saw his role increase some and played well in limited chances.

—DT Jordan Hill saw his playing time decrease, appearing in 29 percent of snaps after playing 48 percent last week and 52 the week before.

—Malcolm Smith saw his playing time decrease (39 percent), largely because the Seahawks were in nickel defense a lot, meaning KJ Wright and Bobby Wagner were often the only linebackers on the field.

Special teams

—Once again, the busiest players on special teams were DeShawn Shead (78 percent), Brock Coyle (78), Derrick Coleman (75), Jeron Johnson (59) Malcolm Smith (56), Luke Willson (53) and Mike Morgan (47).

—Thanks to a safety, we saw the rare game where the punter played a snap more than the long snapper. Not really that significant, just was an interesting quirk (at least to me).
