At least 13 men and women have died in the Snohomish County Jail since 2010. Of those, three were suicides. One other man was found hanging in his cell in July and later died at a local hospital:
April 7, 2010: Landon Hays, 38, died of heart disease. He had been booked for unlawful imprisonment and death threats.
April 20, 2011: Diane Cowling, 65, died of a heart attack. She had been booked for animal cruelty.
Nov. 11, 2011: Lindsey Lason, 27, died of a lung infection. She had been booked for prostitution and drugs.
Dec. 21, 2011: Jason Elliott, 32, committed suicide. He had been booked for domestic violence and drugs.
July 3, 2012: Michael Saffioti, 22, died of asthma and allergies. He had been booked for marijuana possession.
Sept. 14, 2012: Bill Williams, 59, died of heart problems after being shocked twice with a stun gun by corrections officers. He had been booked for theft.
Feb. 28, 2013: Leon Benjamin Moore, 41, died after a meth overdose. He had been booked for a DUI warrant.
July 29, 2013: Kathleen Ann Swann-Deutsch, 51, died of the effects of chronic alcohol abuse. She had been booked for DUI.
Jan. 13, 2014: Lindsay M. Kronberger, 24, died of probable heart problems, dehydration and opiate withdrawal. She had been booked for domestic-violence malicious mischief.
May 22, 2014: Melissa Lee Bradford, 42, died of liver disease. She had been booked for domestic violence.
Aug. 2, 2014: A 21-year-old man was found hanging in his jail cell July 26. He later died at an area hospital. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner is continuing to investigate. He had been booked on warrants for domestic violence, possessing stolen property and theft.
Sept. 9, 2014: Travis A. Nelson-Martinez, 19, committed suicide by hanging. He had been booked for warrants for trespassing.
Sept. 23, 2014: Marilyn E. Mowan, 62, died from an apparent medical problem. Her cause of death is under investigation. She had been booked for assault.
Sept. 29, 2014: Crystal D. Hollaway, 33, was found hanging in her cell. Her cause of death is under investigation but suicide is suspected. She had been booked for possessing a stolen car and possessing stolen property.
