TACOMA — One person died in a fire at a Tacoma apartment building for seniors.
The fire department said it started about 11 a.m. Tuesday in the kitchen of a basement unit where the person was found dead.
Spokesman Joe Meinecke told The News Tribune the fire was put out by the sprinkler system.
Other residents of the Annobee apartments were evacuated to the lawn to wait until they were allowed back inside.
