Everett senior cross country runner Cooper James was named the CenturyLink High School Athlete of the Week on Tuesday by the Seattle Seahawks, CenturyLink Inc. and Sports Authority.
In a press release, the Seahawks said James was selected because of “his dedication to academics.” He maintains a 4.0 grade point average, while taking multiple advanced placement classes and staying involved other extra-curricular activities. James is a captain for the Everett cross country team this fall.
As the winner of the Athlete of the Week, James will attend the Seahawks’ October 12 game against the Dallas Cowboys. He will also be recognized in front of his school. The school will also receive a $1,200 gift card that will be added to Everett’s ASB fund.
