Monte Cristo: The city of Everett’s 20th annual Monte Cristo awards ceremony is 6:30 p.m. Oct. 9 at the Everett Performing Arts Center, 2710 Wetmore Ave, Everett. The awards recognize residents and business owners who make and keep their places attractive and in good shape. The ceremony includes photo presentations of the homes and businesses recognized.
Evergreen Arboretum &Gardens Arboretum tours: Reservations for custom group tours are available all year by calling 425-257-8597. There is no charge, but donations to the Evergreen Arboretum Foundation are welcome. The arboretum is at 145 Alverson Blvd., Everett. Brightwater Center Fall Festivities: The Brightwater Center, located off SR 9 in Woodinville, has two free events in October. Children are welcome if accompanied by an adult. Dahlia Diggin is Saturday, Oct. 11 at 10 a.m. Join local dahlia experts Walt Jacenko and Marge Thatcher for a hands-on workshop that will teach you to dig, divide and store your dahlias for the winter.
