We’re on a roll here. Yet another keen eye among our Street Smarts readers has brought about a change.
Julie Hanner lives in Marysville and notes there is a street sign on 108th Street NE at the top of a hill warning of an approaching left turn at 62nd Avenue NE. “Problem is, the sign says it is 64th … Can this be corrected?”
City traffic engineer Jesse Hannah is on the case.
“Upon performing a site visit last week, I determined that the sign in question was installed with the wrong street name by either the city or county prior to annexation,” Hannah said. “It should have been ‘62nd Ave NE’ rather than the posted ‘64th Ave NE.’ A work order has been placed for a city sign technician to replace the sign.
“Such replacement may take several weeks as the sign must be procured and scheduled for install, as well as not being of imminent safety risk,” he added.
