EdCC foundation raises money to support student veterans

The Edmonds Community College Foundation is in the final stretch of its $1 million fundraising goal for the Boots to Books and Beyond campaign to support student veterans and their families at Edmonds Community College. The campaign has raised more than $870,000. The Foundation hopes to achieve its goal by Veteran’s Day.

Breast cancer awareness event planned in Mount Vernon

Skagit Regional Health and the Regional Cancer Care Center are hosting Think Pink, a breast cancer awareness and prevention event for the public from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 22 in the main lobby of Skagit Valley Hospital, 1415 E Kincaid St, Mount Vernon. Arlington nonprofit plans annual Black Cat Ball

Arlington’s Purrfect Pals Cat Shelter and Sanctuary will hold its 17th Annual Black Cat Ball on Oct. 25 at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue. The dinner and auction benefits the Snohomish County no-kill rescue, sanctuary, foster and hospice care for homeless cats and kittens. EdCC plans to host discussion on women of Boeing

“Trailblazers: The Women of The Boeing Company” is a presentation and panel discussion based on Betsy Case’s book of the same name.
