Celebrate the reopening of the Suiattle River Road on Oct. 25. The road washed out many times and has been mostly closed to the public for a decade.
The road offers access to sites such as the Green Mountain Lookout, the Glacier Peak Wilderness and more than 100 miles of trails. Events are planned from noon to 4 p.m. at the Darrington Community Center, 570 Sauk Ave. Events include remarks by government officials and a video showcasing the importance of the Suiattle River Road. You’ll also be able to learn about recreational activities in the area.
The road opens to the public at noon on that same day. Get more info on the event here.
