SEATTLE — Playing in front of an energetic home crowd, the King’s volleyball team defeated rival Archbishop Murphy 3-1 in a Cascade Conference matchup Wednesday night. Set scores were 25-19, 25-19, 25-20.
“It’s a good win for us,” King’s head coach Jeff Fransen said. “It was senior night tonight and it was in our gym, so we really wanted the victory, but we know it’s a rivarly and Archbishop (Murphy) would bring their best.”
The deciding set saw both teams trading points after the Knights rebounded from an early deficit. The Knights started the match strong with consecutive six-point set victories.
“We just played our volleyball game, our system well,” Fransen said of the strong start. “We exectued our system really well those matches.”
Baylee Hanson recorded 14 kills and Savannah Hanson added 10 kills for the Knights.
Jaime Cymbaluk and Sam Hayward combined for 27 kills for the Wildcats.
