4A District tournament: Singles

MOUNT VERNON — The 4A District tournament was delayed a bit because of rain, but nothing else could slow down Ben Mietzner.

The Jackson senior won his third consecutive 4A District title with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Kamiak’s Jimmy Hua.

Hua will face either Bence Dare (Jackson) or Snohomish’s Kincaid Norris in the 2nd/3rd place game when the tournament concludes Friday at the Mill Creek Tennis Club. The top two seeds clinch a berth in the 4A state tournament, which takes place May 29th and 30th in Richland. The third seed will be the alternate.
