The Showbox SoDo is the place to go this coming week, as the Seattle venue caters to a wide range of musical tastes with a diverse line-up of acts.

First up is Chase Rice, country music’s latest Next Big Thing. The one-time reality TV star plays the venue at 8 p.m. Saturday.

Rice, who finished in second place on “Survivor: Nicaragua,” has built up a following with his own take on mainstream country music — one song off his new album is titled “Jack Daniels and Jesus.” He’s touring now behind that new album, “Ignite the Night,” his second full-length, which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 earlier this year.

Tickets are $19 at showboxonline.com or 888-929-7849.

Then at 8 p.m. Sunday, the venue will welcome indie favorites Chromeo, the synth-driven dance duo.

The act, which made its name thanks to retro-sounding singles such as “Mama’s Boy,” took another step toward the mainstream with its cheekily titled new album, “White Woman,” which hit No. 11 on the Billboard 200 in May.

Tickets are $30 at showboxonline.com or 888-929-7849.

Finally, a double bill will bring Machine Head and the Children of Bodom to the Showbox SoDo at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Since first forming in 1992, Machine Head has seen its star power grow. The metal core act has become a staple of its genre, and is now gearing up to release “Bloodstone and Diamonds,” expected in stores this November.

The Finnish metal group Children of Bodom, meanwhile, has a following of its own. The group marked its 20th year anniversary in 2013, when it released “Halo of Blood.”

Tickets are $31.99 at showboxonline.com or 888-929-7849.

Another metal act from Scandinavia will play the Moore Theatre at 7 p.m. Tuesday, as King Diamond comes to Seattle.

The theatrical Danish metal singer, whose real name is Kim Bendix Petersen, has built up a cultish fan base during his nearly 30-year-long career. His solo albums include “Abigail,” “Abigail II: The Revenge,” and his most reent album, 2007’s “Give Me Your Soul Please.”

Those albums aside, fans might hear some fresh material during his Seattle show — the singer told Rolling Stone he’s working on a new record, which might see daylight in 2015.

Tickets are $32.50 to $47.50 at stgpresents.org or 877-784-4849.

The long-running jam band moe. will play the Neptune Theatre at 8 Friday night.

Known for its improvisational prowess, the upstate New York rock act has been churning out albums since 1991. The group is touring now behind its 11th studio album, “No Guts, No Glory!” which saw release earlier this year.

Tickets are $25 at stgpresents.org or 877-784-4849.

A pair of shows at the Showbox — the sister venue of the Showbox SoDo — wraps up concerts in the week ahead.

First up is the Airborne Toxic Event, which will play the Seattle club at 9 p.m. Sunday.

The alt-rock band — which took its name from a section of the famed Don DeLillo novel “White Noise” — has won fans thanks to the wide-screen appeal of its alt-rock anthems.

Best known for the 2008 single “Sometime Around Midnight,” the group is touring now behind its 2013 album, “Such Hot Blood.”

Tickets are $24 at showboxonline.com or 888-929-7849.

Finally, Mississippi rapper Big K.R.I.T. will play the Showbox at 9 p.m. Monday.

The rapper made a splash with his studio debut, “Live From the Underground,” which featured guest spots from a wide array of artists, including rapper Devin the Dude and blues legend B.B. King.

After releasing a mix tape, he’s now touring behind his sophomore album, “Cadillactica,” expected in stores this Nov. 11.

Tickets are $30 at showboxonline.com or 888-929-7849.
