MILL CREEK — The Jackson boys tennis team clinched the Wesco 4A District championship on Friday with strong performances in the losers bracket of both singles and doubles play.
Caleb Kim and Alex Olson defeated teammates Nicholas Magarelli and Josh Yi 2-6, 7-6, 7-5 to capture second place and a berth in the state tournament. Magarelli and Yi are alternates to the state tournament.
In singles play, Bence Dare of Jackson defeated Snohomish’s Kincaid Norris 7-6 (5), 6-4 to earn a spot in the second-third place match against Kamiak’s Jimmy Hua. Dare and Hua face off Monday at the Mill Creek Tennis Club.
