Prep cross country: Cascade Conference Championships

ARLINGTON — Josh Rauvola of Archbishop Murphy won the individual title and Cedarcrest claimed the boys team title Saturday at the Cascade Conference meet. On the girls side Lakewood’s Lilly Whitehead won the individual title while Cedarcrest took the team title.

Rauvola’s time of 16 minutes, 26.10 seconds was more than 14 seconds better than runner-up Ryan Abdalla of Cedar Park Christian-Bothell who had a time of 16:40.95. Cedarcrest’s Ian Fay (16:47.67), Lakewood’s James Hafner (16:59.78) and Cedarcrest’s Grant Van Valkenburg (17:00.97) rounded out the top five.

The Cedarcrest boys team score of 34 topped host Lakewood’s tally of 86.

Whitehead’s time of 19:51.10 was nearly seven seconds better than runner-up Alicia Krivanek of Cedarcrest (19:58.00). Britney Albro of Lakewood (20:04.3), Cedarcrest’s Madi Shinn (20:04.40) and Archbishop Murphy’s Mackenzie Ryan (20:40.90) completed the top five.
