SHORELINE — Cedar Park Christian (Bothell) rebounded from a first-set loss to win the next three and deal King’s its first loss of the season in a battle of Cascade Conference unbeatens on Thursday night.
The Eagles led 15-5 in the first set, but King’s came all the way back for a 27-25 victory.
The Knights were unable to keep the momentum going, as service errors and passing errors plagued King’s during the match.
“We didn’t give ourselves a chance to get into our offense,” King’s coach Jeff Fransen said. “We fixed it a little bit in game four, which was really a battle, but a few errors cost us at the end.”
Baylee and Savannah Hanson combined for 21 kills for King’s. Samantha Drechsel had 22 kills and 16 digs for Cedar Park Christian (Bothell).
“Both teams were going toe-to-toe,” Fransen said. “We both have some big hitters. We just didn’t execute as well as we would have liked, and CPC excecuted really nicely.”
The two volleyball heavyweights will meet again in Bothell on Oct. 27.
