SEATTLE — Vulcan CEO Jody Allen says she’s taking a sabbatical from the Seattle investment and development company established by her brother, Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen.
In a memo to employees Monday, Jody Allen, said she wanted to focus on new philanthropic directions. The Seattle Times reports she specified no return date.
Vulcan has about 600 employees. It hired media executive Barb Bennett in August as president and chief operating officer.
Vulcan holdings include the Seattle Seahawks and Portland Trail Blazers, the Institute for Brain Science, and real estate projects that include the Amazon headquarters.
