It seems from the many letters published regarding initiatives 591 and 594, there is a lot of pro and con regarding 594 but little criticism of 591. It is wise to read both, of course. One thing to keep in mind is that although the big money spenders, billionaires from both in and outside of the state, support 594, major law enforcement organizations in Washington oppose 594 and support 591. That alone would indicate likely problems with 594. Initiative 591 is endorsed by: the Washington Council of Police and Sheriffs (WACOPS), which represents over 7,500 officers, the Washington State Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors Association (WSLEFIA), the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, the Firearm Collectors and Shooters Association, the Firearms Policy Coalition, the Gun Owners Action League of Washington, the Hunters Heritage Council, the Second Amendment Sisters, the Washington Arms Collectors, and the Washington State Rifle and Pistol Association. If 591 is what the police prefer, shouldn’t it be what all law abiding citizens prefer. Even the Herald gets it wrong, as usual. Please don’t let the millionaires and billionaires buy your vote. Protect your rights and vote yes on 591 and no on 594.
