LAKE STEVENS — A Lake Stevens police officer has resigned after his ex-girlfriend sought a protection order accusing him of stalking her.
Andrew Thor, 33, also is the focus of a criminal investigation, according to a one-sentence city press release issued Monday.
“Officer Andrew Thor has resigned from the Lake Stevens Police Department, and there is an ongoing criminal investigation which the city cannot comment on further,” the release stated.
It’s not yet clear which agency is handling the investigation. Thor had worked for the city for nearly five years.
In the protection order a Pierce County woman accused Thor of stalking. The woman, 26, said that Thor pretended to be a CIA agent, Special Forces soldier and a British Special Air Service member to foment a relationship with her.
The relationship lasted three and a half years, she wrote in court papers.
Thor also is accused of using police resources to look up information on the woman and others in his life. He is accused of driving past her house, following her and intimidating her with his duty firearm by repeatedly loading and unloading it in front of her, she alleges.
In Lake Stevens, Thor also served as an adviser for the police explorer program and he taught at the state police explorer academy.
