Incumbent Democratic State Sen. Maralyn Chase and incumbent Democratic State Rep. Ruth Kagi hold nearly identical 71 percent to 28 percent leads in the 32nd Legislative District with almost all votes counted.
Chase leads Republican challenger Robert Reedy and Kagi leads Republican opponent Alvin Rutledge.
Both Reedy and Rutledge made the contest closer in the Snohomish County part of the district – Lynnwood, Woodway and nearby unincorporated areas, and parts of Edmonds and Mountlake Terrace – than in King County – Shoreline and part of northwest Seattle.
Both Democrats hold 65-35 percent leads in Snohomish County. In King County Chase has a 76-24 percent margin over Reedy and Kagi leads Rutledge 77 percent to 23 percent.
Incumbent Democrats State Rep. Cindy Ryu ran unopposed for the district’s other House seat.
