Church raffle

Just 10 euro a ticket: Pope Francis is raffling off dozens of gifts he’s received so far during his papacy, with the proceeds going to charity. The raffle will include a new Fiat 4×4, some bicycles and a gourmet coffee maker.

Francis is said to have two hopes for the raffle: that it provides resources for the needy, and that Pope Benedict XVI doesn’t notice that Francis is also raffling those shiny red shoes the retired pontiff gave him.

There’s always the bus station men’s room: New York has unveiled what it calls the pay phone of the future: a kiosk that offers free high-speed WiFi connections, free calls to anywhere in the U.S., and charging stations for cellphones.

In an embarrassing oversight, however, the phone booths lack one important feature: room for Superman to change clothes.

Excuse me while I light my spliff: A Seattle-based private equity firm is joining with the family of reggae legend Bob Marley to create a line of Marley-branded marijuana products.

Budding weed entrepreneurs, take note: Although the Marley name is now locked down, Rick Steves is still available (as far as The Buzz knows).
