Husband-and-wife at Arlington Family Chiropractic honored

On Oct. 18, Shawn Gay and Kim Burnell-Gay of Arlington Family Chiropractic were honored by the Washington State Chiropractic Association with an Outstanding Service Award. The husband-and-wife team were presented with the award for their efforts to assist the Oso community in the aftermath of the March mudslide.

Swedish Edmonds gets A grade for safety

Swedish Edmonds was honored for the third consecutive time with an A grade in the fall 2014 update to the national Hospital Safety Score, which rates how well hospitals protect patients from accidents, errors, injuries and infections. The Hospital Safety Score is administered by The Leapfrog Group, an independent industry watchdog.

Snohomish County visitor centers collecting blankets

Snohomish County Visitor Information Centers are holding a blanket drive for those in need. The participating centers are located at Heritage Park, 19921 Poplar Way, Lynnwood and at 1301 First St, Snohomish. Free concert planned at Harbour Pointe Retirement Community

Harbour Pointe Retirement Community in Mukilteo is hosting a free and open-to-the-public concert called From Russia with Love at 2 p.m. Nov. 23 at 10200 Harbour Place, Mukilteo. Award-winning student musicians Young Jin Park, Casey Sim, and the The Kamiak Trio comprised of Tyler Kang, Bryan Shin and Kristina Kim will perform masterpieces by Rachmaninoff and Scriabin.

Workforce Snohomish receives grant to help homeless veterans

Workforce Snohomish was recently awarded The Homeless Veterans’ Reintegration Program grant. Veterans currently homeless and in need of assistance gaining employment may be eligible for employment assistance with their job search, resume, and interviewing skills and resources to help with accessing VA benefits, community services and housing.
