Boeing contractor in Everett sentenced for fraud

ST. LOUIS — The owner of an Everett manufacturing company has been sentenced to one year and three months in prison for a bribery and kickback scheme involving military aircraft parts sold to The Boeing Company.

Jeffrey Lavelle, owner of J.L. Manufacturing, pleaded guilty earlier this year to wire and mail fraud. He was sentenced Friday in U.S. District Court in St. Louis, the last of four defendants in the case.

Former Boeing procurement officer Deon Anderson was sentenced last month to one year and eight months in prison, admitting he took bribes from companies seeking to sell parts for military aircraft in exchange for providing them with confidential information such as competitor bids.

Another contractor and a consulting firm owner previously received similar sentences.
