A while back I had a letter published regarding the atrocities committed by General Motors, and how I would never own another one (I have since purchased a Toyota.) My advice was to let them fail by not buying their vehicles.
Since then, their stock has gone up, and people are buying their cars in record numbers. Go figure!
Two articles that ran in October related to GM’s ongoing misdeeds. One article reported that GM has received 184 death claims and 1,333 injury claims from crashes caused by faulty ignition switches. Of course their lawyers are trying to reduce those numbers drastically.
Another article stated: United Nations human rights experts have called on officials in Detroit (home of GM) to restore water to 27,000 homes of those unable to pay their bills. Again, another catastrophe caused by moving their plants elsewhere, eliminating thousands of good paying jobs, with excellent benefits. The cities of Detroit and Flint, Michigan, are totally ruined; foreclosed houses sit rotting, and people have no decent jobs.
The Michael Moore movie “Roger and Me” tells the whole sordid story about CEO Roger Smith’s decision to move GM, while telling the people all will be well. (For him and his cohorts.)
Let them fail, don’t buy GM!
