KENNEWICK — Benton County officials say a man and a woman found dead in a Kennewick, Washington, home may have died from inhaling toxic fumes.
The Tri-City Herald reported that a family friend found the bodies at mid-day Monday. A dog was also found dead.
Law enforcement officials and neighbors say the house did not have electricity.
Authorities found a generator and kerosene heater inside the house, which had a strong odor of fumes.
The two people were not immediately identified pending notification of relatives.
Benton County sheriff’s detective Sgt. Kevin McCary says there were no signs of trauma and authorities don’t suspect foul play.
The county coroner’s office will consult with a forensic pathologist and order toxicology tests before determining an official cause of death.
