Artisan cooperative gallery opening in Everett

SugarShak by the Sea, a new artisan cooperative gallery, will celebrate its grand opening on Nov. 28. SugarShak by the Sea is made up of many people with the common goal of creating a neighborhood shop and gallery where customers can purchase local creations. Volunteers needed to help working families prepare taxes

Volunteers are needed for United Way’s IRS-approved Free Tax Preparation Program in 2015 to help Snohomish County working families. Multilingual individuals are especially needed. The deadline for volunteer registration is Nov. 30. Each volunteer will be asked to contribute three to five hours a week, from Jan. 20 until April 14. More than $60,000 raised for Mukilteo Schools Foundation

More than 300 people attended the annual fundraising breakfast for the Mukilteo Schools Foundation Nov. 11. More than $60,000 was raised to fund classroom grants, scholarships for graduating seniors, and programs to promote STEM activities. The event was held at the Future of Flight Aviation Center and featured a presentation by best-selling author Carol Cassella.

Black Friday celebration at Tulalip Cabela’s

Tulalip Cabela’s will celebrate Black Friday by welcoming customers with refreshments, games, entertainment and more than $10,000 in giveaways. The festivities at Cabela’s Tulalip store will be part of a nationwide celebration in which Cabela’s will give away more than $400,000 in Black Friday gifts across the company’s U.S. retail locations.

Better Business Bureau to offer new scholarship

Better Business Bureau has launched the 2015 Students of Integrity Scholarship. High school seniors in the Northwest will have a chance to win a $10,000 scholarship by creating a 90-second video that demonstrates how BBB helps people become smart consumers. The deadline to apply is January 30, 2015.
