SEATTLE — Sound Transit says Sounder train service has been restored on Sunday between Lakewood and Seattle.
The agency says workers cleared a downed tree faster than expected so a weekend train will take fans to the Seattle Sounders and Los Angeles Galaxy match Sunday evening.
Sounder service between Everett and Seattle, however, remains canceled because of a mudslide that happened south of Everett Saturday evening. Trees and debris from that slide are blocking BNSF Railway track. Passenger trains are expected to resume along that track Monday night.
Sound Transit says riders north of Seattle should take regularly scheduled bus service.
