MEDFORD, Ore. — State police in southern Oregon who stopped a car for seatbelt violations wound up finding 17 kilos — more than 37 pounds — of cocaine and arresting three people from Washington state.
Lt. Josh Brooks said troopers asked for assistance from a drug detection K-9 after the traffic stop Friday on I-5. K-9 Rainey helped them find the cocaine in a false compartment. Also found was nearly $6,000 in cash.
Arrested for unlawful possession, delivery and manufacturing of cocaine were Christopher Winters, 26, of Mill Creek; and Taylor Thruelsen, 36; and Christopher Carrigan, 37, both of Issaquah.
