While the roster move is not yet official, the Seahawks are expected to sign defensive lineman David King off of Cincinnati’s practice squad. Presumably the corresponding move will be to place defensive end Demarcus Dobbs on injured reserve, the result of an ankle injury suffered in Seattle’s win in Philadelphia. Pete Carroll described Dobb’s ankle sprain as “legit” on Monday, and in Carroll-speak, “legit” usually means it’s pretty serious. King was in the Seahawks locker room Wednesday, so it isn’t that there is a holdup to the deal getting done, but rather that he just arrived at team headquarters too late in the day for his physical and paper work to get finalized before the league’s daily deadline to make transactions official.
King, who is listed at 6-4, 300 pounds, was drafted by Philadelphia in the seventh round last year, but spent most of the past two seasons on Cincinnati’s practice squad.
