CAMANO ISLAND— A 71-year-old Camano Island man died Thursday night after his Saturn Vue struck a Volkswagen EuroVan about five miles west of Stanwood. Three people in the van suffered serious injuries, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Michael S. Rossner was westbound on Highway 532 when his vehicle apparently crossed the centerline and collided with the van head-on near Hanstad Road. He died at the scene.
The van driver, a 45-year-old Camano Island woman, and two of her passengers, a 15-year-old girl and an 11-year-old boy, were taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
On Friday all three were listed in serious condition in the intensive care unit. Troopers say their injuries aren’t believed to be life-threatening.
A 7-year-old girl who also was in the van was unhurt.
