KENNEWICK — The Everett Silvertips head into the regular season on a winning streak.
Everett concluded its preseason preparations by defeating the Tri-City Americans 3-1 Saturday night. It was the second straight night the Tips beat the Americans by that score, Everett prevailing Friday night in Everett.
Everett won its final two exhibition contests to finish the preseason 4-3. The Tips open the regular season Friday night at Kamloops.
Everett didn’t threaten Tri-City’s goal often, managing just 12 shots on net. But the Tips made the most of those opportunities, Paul Van de Velde creating two power-play goals to lead the way, and Shane Harper scoring early in the third period to snap a 1-1 tie.
Everett rallied after Drew Hoff gave the Americans the lead just 22 seconds into the game.
Shayne Barrie earned the win in goal for the second straight night, stopping 21 shots.
Drew Owsley stopped three of four shots and Brett Martyniuk stopped six of eight in goal for the Americans.
