LAKE STEVENS — A 22-year-old man was killed and two more people were injured in a head-on crash Thursday.
The crash was reported about 4 p.m. near the intersection of Lake Drive and Highway 92, just east of Highway 9, Lake Stevens police Cmdr. Dennis Taylor said.
The Lake Stevens man was driving westbound on the highway when he reportedly crossed the center line to avoid colliding with another car stopped to make a left turn. His car hit an oncoming pickup truck.
He died at the scene. The man and girl in the pickup were seriously injured and taken to the hospital. They’re both from Lake Stevens. An update on their conditions was not available.
The crash remains under investigation. A Washington State Patrol detectives is expected to assist.
