TEMPE, Ariz. — Arizona Cardinals coach Bruce Arians says quarterback Drew Stanton might suit up against Seattle on Sunday night but would not start.
At best, Arians said, Stanton could back up starter Ryan Lindley.
Stanton sprained his right knee in last week’s win at St. Louis. He practiced on a limited basis Thursday but did not practice on Friday.
Earlier in the week, Arians said he thought Stanton would be out two to four weeks.
The coach said Friday that Stanton had made “good progress” this week and it will be a game-time decision whether he will suit up against the Seahawks.
If Stanton can’t go, Lindley’s backup would be rookie Logan Thomas.
