We of Zonta Everett want to express our huge thank you to our supporters in Snohomish and King counties who helped us make our 38th annual auction such a huge success. Because of our communities’ generosity, we will be able to fully fund our scholarships to a local high school young woman who has shown a powerful interest in public affairs; our Jane Klausman scholarship to a young woman at university pursuing a career in business/economics; and our most special Women In Transition Scholarships awarded to women who unexpectedly find themselves single head of households and who need more education in order to support their families.
We will also be able to make small but critical grants to nongovernmental organizations in our community whose programs directly help improve the status of women and girls such as Cocoon House’s Home for Teen Moms, Housing Hope’s Life Skills education for teen moms and the YWCA’s Pathways to Work to help women live self sustaining and fulfilling lives. We are a small but powerful organization that has been working to help our community for 85 years! We may be small, but we make a difference and we are so grateful to our many enthusiastic supporters.
