Snap count notes from the Seahawks’ 35-6 win in Arizona

As always, you can see all the numbers below, but first a few highlights.

Offense

— A quick note, as you’ll see below, it appears they credited the punt team with one offensive snap for some reason, so that explains the discrepancy between my numbers and the picture below.

— The Seahawks went with Patrick Lewis at center instead of Lemuel Jeanpierre, and by doing that gave Lewis his third start of the season. That means the Seahawks have had four players start three or more games at that that position (Max Unger 6, Lewis, 3, Lemuel Jeanpierre 3, Stephen Schilling 3), hardly an ideal situation.

— With Marshawn Lynch sitting out the first quarter because of an upset stomach, Robert Turbin led the running backs in playing time (25 of 66 snaps to Lynch’s 24), and Christine Michael also played more than usual, with 17 of 66 snaps. Those two combined for 18 carries. Lynch had just 10.

— Wide receiver Jermaine Kearse’s hamstring injury meant a bigger role for rookie Paul Richardson (41 of 66).

—The blowout meant Tarvaris Jackson got his first playing time this season, completing one pass on Seattle’s final series.

Defense

— Jeremy Lane went back to the nickel corner role after being a special-teams-only player last week. He was on the field for 50 snaps. That meant a drastically decreased role for Tharold Simon, who played just nine snaps.

— Because of the lopsided score, no one played the entire game on defense (usually Kam Chancellor, Earl Thomas, Richard Sherman, Byron Maxwell, K.J. Wright and Bobby Wagner rarely or never leave the field).

Special teams

— The core group of special-teams players, minus injured receiver Chris Matthews, was largely the same, with Mike Morgan, Malcolm Smith and DeShawn Shead playing 74 percent of the special-teams plays. Jeron Johnson played 71 percent and Jeremy Lane 58 percent.
