Learn boating basics
The Everett Sail and Power Squadron will offer to the public a seven-week Basic Boating Course on the fundamentals of safe boating. The course is designed to familiarize the student with how to operate a boat safely and be in compliance with state and federal laws.
Upon passing the final test, students will qualify for the Washington State Boater Education card, which is required to operate watercraft. Classes will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays starting Feb. 9 and ending March 23.

Native trees and shrubs: The Snohomish Conservation District will host its 30th annual native tree and shrub sale from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 28 at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe.
The sale offers a variety of native plants for landscaping, habitat restoration, erosion control, attracting wildlife and for beauty and enjoyment. This year’s sale will feature several speakers throughout the day, booths for area conservation groups, kids’ activities, rain-barrel kits and pollinator packets.
