Weekend best bets: Legos, live jazz, ‘Frozen’ and more

Build it: Come and build to your heart’s content using Lego Roylco Straws, K’Nex, and more from 2 to 4 p.m. on Friday at the Snohomish Library. For families.

Toy stories: Join performer Alleyoop (Al Hirsch) and learn about the origin of toys and have a chance to try them all out at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Snohomish Library. More than 35 toys will be showcased. You will also get to hear an amazing set of whistles from all over the world. For families.

Jazzy: The Jazz Pearls play from 7 to 10 p.m. Sunday at the Anchor Pub, 1001 Hewitt Ave. The group’s repertoire includes sophisticated jazz standards, swing, bee bop, Latin jazz, funk, pop and tunes from musicals and movies.

More jazz: Classical and jazz artists meld their musical skills in “Jazzin’ with the Classics for Christmas,” at 2 p.m Sunday at the Floyd Norgaard Cultural Center, 27130 102nd Ave. NW, Stanwood; suggested $15 donation, 18 and under free.

Bright: It’s your last chance to see the Lights of Christmas at Warm Beach. They are open each night from 5 to 10 p.m. through Dec. 30; $10-15. Or check out Woodland Park Zoo’s Wildlights 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. through Jan. 4; $6.50 to $9.75.

Gingerbread Village: The culinary staff of the Sheraton Seattle Hotel, 1400 Sixth Ave., teamed up with architects and designers to bake and build elaborate gingerbread displays in the hotel lobby. The displays continue through Jan. 5. Admission is free. For more information, go here.

Frozen: Chill at the Freeland Library starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Make some crafts inspired by the movie “Frozen” and then hang around to see the movie.

Winter fun: Join the staff at the Mountlake Terrace Library for stories, science experiments and crafts at 2 p.m. on Saturday. For ages 4 and up.
