BOTHELL — The Jackson boys basketball team won its fourth straight game on Saturday, outlasting Juanita 71-60 in the first round of the annual Bothell Holiday Classic.
The Timberwolves built a 14-point lead at halftime, before a 28-point third quarter by Juanita got the Rebels back into the game. Jackson proved to be too much in the fourth quarter, making nine of 10 free throws in the final three minutes to secure the victory.
Senior Dolan Tierney led the Timberwolves with 21 points and senior Frank Rossi chipped in 18. Sophomore Ravi Regan-Hughes scored 17 to lead Juanita.
Jackson will face Newport in Monday’s semifinals.
The Timberwolves played without junior guard Sam Saufferer, who was out sick. His status for Monday’s game against Newport is unknown.
