State parks, national parks and Forest Service lands are offering upcoming free days in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Here’s a list of the fee-free days planned for 2015.
Forest Service fee free days
On these days, you won’t need a Northwest Forest Pass to use Forest Service recreation sites.
- Jan. 19: Martin Luther King Jr. Day
- Feb. 16: Presidents Day
- June 6: National Trails Day
- June 13: National Get Outdoors Day
- Sept. 26: National Public Lands Day
- Nov. 11: Veterans Day
State Parks free days
On these days, you won’t need a Discover Pass to visit state parks.
- Jan. 19 and 20: Martin Luther King Jr. Day
- March 19: Washington State Parks’ 101st birthday
- April 4: A spring Saturday free day
- April 22: Earth Day
- May 10: A spring Sunday free day
- June 6: National Trails Day and WDFW Free Fishing Weekend
- June 13: National Get Outdoors Day
- August 25: National Park Service’s birthday
- Sept. 26: National Public Lands Day
- Nov. 11: Veterans Day
National park free days
On these days you won’t need to pay to visit National Parks. Around here that means Mount Rainier and Olympic national parks. North Cascades National Park is always free.
- Jan. 19: Martin Luther King Jr. Day
- Feb. 14-16: Presidents Day weekend
- April 18-19: Opening weekend of National Park Week
- August 25: National Park Service birthday
- Sept. 26: National Public Lands Day
- Nov. 11: Veterans Day
