Canyon Creek Cabinet in Monroe announces two hires
Monroe-based Canyon Creek Cabinet Company announced the appointment of Jim Evans as pre-finish manager and Carlos Christiansen as pre-finish supervisor. Evans has over eight years in millwork production management, and holds a master’s degree in leadership and HR development. Christiansen started his career as a professional hockey player. After a career-ending injury, he moved into the millwork industry.
Diamond Knot, neighbors raise money and donations for food bank
Diamond Knot and Concern for Neighbors Food Bank in Mountlake Terrace raised more than $1,300 when they partnered for a food drive and fundraiser on Dec. 3. Diamond Knot Brewpub Mountlake Terrace general manager Rick Berlin was able to hand over a $900 check raised through a portion of their sales that day. Customers also generously donated.
Everett Clinic foundation gives grant to help homeless families
ChildStrive has received a $10,000 grant from The Everett Clinic Foundation for the agency’s Supports to Homeless Families Program. This grant will enable ChildStrive to continue to provide services to families with children age birth to 5 who are living in homeless shelters or transitional housing facilities in Snohomish County. The grant will also support shelter play groups and parent education programs.
Jeweler to collect donations for Everett Gospel Mission
Harry Ritchie’s jeweler is holding a Great Exchange event, which runs through the end of January. During this special event, customers can bring in donations such as laundry detergent, dish soap, shampoo and diapers to the Harry Ritchie’s store located at Everett Mall and receive a 10 percent discount on their jewelry purchase. Donations benefit Everett Gospel Mission.
EdCC raises $1 million in Boots to Books campaign
The Edmonds Community College Foundation reached its $1 million fundraising campaign goal for Boots to Books and Beyond on Dec. 31. The campaign offers student veterans extensive on-campus support services and provides emergency and gap funds for unexpected expenses. It also offers help in translating their military experiences into credits and peer mentoring to provide emotional and academic support.
