Meet the new Port of Everett director
The Port of Everett plans to host an open house for the community to meet new CEO/Executive Director Les Reardanz from 4 to 6 this evening at the Blue Heron Room at the port’s Waterfront Center, 1205 Craftsman Way (second floor), Everett. Everett Rotary Club recognizes former City Floral owner
The Rotary Club of Everett has recognized Ralph Quaas for a half century of service to the club and the Everett community. Quaas, 80, is the former owner of City Floral, which was located on Colby Avenue in downtown Everett. He took over the business from his father, J. Herbert Quaas, and ran it for 44 years.
Foundation, Coastal Community team up to help families
Greater Everett Community Foundation and the Coastal Community Bank Employee Giving Fund provided food for the families of 10 Sultan High School students. Sultan High School principal Tami Nesting had identified a need for these families who usually receive free lunch. Each of these families had food for the entire holiday break.
Concert to benefit Housing Hope
Local musician Annemarie Russell is hosting a free concert to benefit Everett-based non-profit, Housing Hope, an agency providing homes and services to homeless and low-income families in Snohomish County. Doors open at 6.30 p.m. Thursday. at the Shack Art Center, 2921 Hoyt Ave., Everett. For more information, go to www.housinghope.org.
Revenue offers workshop for employers
A free workshop, L&I Workshop for Employers: Introduction to Rates and Claims Management, will cover the roles and responsibilities of employers, workers, doctors and claim managers. Learn how return-to-work strategies can keep costs down and what resources are available. The workshop is from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday. Register at www.workshops.lni.wa.gov.
