As you already knew by now, Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch was fined $20,000 for an “obscene gesture,” the result of grabbing his crotch on his way into the end zone in the fourth quarter of the NFC championship game. It was the second time this year Lynch has been fined for that, having also earned a smaller fine following Seattle win in Arizona.
It also turns out that WR Chris Matthews was fined $11,025 for a similar “obscene gesture” on that same play. His fine was smaller because Matthews is a first-time, um, grabber. Lynch tweeted his displeasure that Matthews was fined for shaking his hand after the touchdown, but a league source confirmed that wasn’t the cause for the fine.
I feel embarrassed to work for a particular organization that fined a teammate of mine for shaking my hand after a touchdown

In addition, Green Bay linebacker Clay Matthews was fined $22,050 for his hit on Russell Wilson following an interception, while Seahawks guard J.R. Sweezy was fined $8,268 for a late hit on Matthews.
