SNOHOMISH — A man died in a head-on crash Thursday afternoon that closed Highway 9.
The two-car wreck was reported just before 3:30 p.m. at the Snohomish River bridge.
Investigators believe the man who died was in his 20s or 30s. He was northbound in a Honda Accord when he apparently lost control and overcorrected into the southbound lane, said trooper Mark Francis of the Washington State Patrol.
The Honda collided with a southbound Dodge Durango. The Dodge driver, who appeared to be in his 50s, was taken to a local hospital.
His injuries weren’t believed to be life-threatening, Francis said.
The highway was expected to remain closed for several hours.
