Medieval faire, wedding expo among this weekend’s best bets

Time travel: See historical displays and try your hand at archery or spear throwing at the Ursulmas Medieval Faire Friday through Sunday at the Monroe Fairgrounds. Adult admission is $25 on the weekend, $20 on Friday. Those under 17 get in free. See the fair’s website for more details.

Here comes the bride: Get the latest tips and trends in fashion, find a perfect honeymoon destination and connect with local wedding pros at the Everett-Lynnwood Wedding Expo this weekend at the Hansen Conference Center next to Xfinity Arena in Everett. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $15, with special 3-for-the-price-of-2 deals available online. Roll the dice: Saturday is family game day at the Flying Heritage Collection. Try out that new board game you got over the holidays with some fellow gamers or learn a new game at one of the demos from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is free with paid admission to the FHC. Battle stories: Across Paine Field at the Historic Flight Foundation, a series of presentations will commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. Hear stories about the epic World War II battle and see military re-enactors in authentic dress. More details in our calendar.

Jazz in Edmonds: The Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra celebrates its 20th anniversary with a reprise performance of its popular “Quincy Jones and Ray Charles on Jackson Street” concert at 8 p.m. Friday at Edmonds Center for the Arts. Speed on ice: While the Silvertips are away, others will play on the ice at Xfinity Arena. See motorcycles and ATVs from around the world streak along the ice (with no brakes allowed) in X-treme International Ice Racing. See the

Mom, me &Monet: Take your favorite youngster to a painting class 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the Red Curtain Foundation for the Arts, 1410 Grove St., Marysville. Family dance party: All ages are invited to a afternoon of twisting and shaking starting at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Snohomish Library, 311 Maple Ave. Learn some fun dances, make a flower for your “date,” and stop by the photo booth for some goofy fun. Formal attire optional.
