OLYMPIA — Police say an Olympia mother has been arrested after her three young children suffered severe knife wounds to their necks.
Olympia Police Lt. Jim Costa said officers responded to the home after 1 a.m. Sunday. Both parents were home at the time, and the children — a 2 year-old and 6-month-old twins — had life-threatening wounds. They were rushed to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital in Tacoma, where Costa said they were “holding their own” after surgery.
The parents were brought to the Olympia Police Department for questioning, and Costa says the 29-year-old mother has been arrested for investigation of attempted murder.
The children are being taken into protective custody.
Police and Thurston County sheriff’s detectives were processing the crime scene.
