Local Seahawks fans have a chance to shout out support for their team at a 12th Man rally scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday at the Snohomish County Plaza in downtown Everett. And several big venues will open their doors Sunday for free public viewing and other events surrounding of the Super Bowl.
Organized by Fox Sports 1380 and the Snohomish County Sea Hawkers, the Snohomish County Blue Friday Rally will feature appearances by former Seahawks players, County Executive John Lovick, Everett Mayor Ray Stephanson and the Everett Silvertips and Everett AquaSox mascots. Jeff Aaron, “The Fish,” will host his “Football Friday” radio show, on KRKO-AM (1380) live from the rally. There will be a 12th Man flag-raising, prizes and a “fan mob” dance. The plaza is at the corner of Wall Street and Oakes Avenue.
The Seahawks-Patriots Super Bowl game will air at 3:30 p.m. Sunday on NBC.
These venues will host free all-ages showings of Sunday’s game:
Rosehill Community Center: The city of Mukilteo will open Rosehill for Super Bowl viewing starting at 3 p.m. Sunday. Viewers will see the game on a 55-inch screen. Fans are encouraged to bring snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. Rosehill Community Center is at 304 Lincoln Ave., Mukilteo.
Historic Everett Theatre: The theater will open at 2 p.m. Sunday for pregame viewing, followed by the Super Bowl broadcast on a 25-foot movie screen. The game is free. To order a $12 meal from the Craving Cajun Grill, call 425-258-6766 by 4:30 p.m. Saturday. The theater is at 2911 Colby Ave., Everett.
Foundation Church: Everett’s Foundation Church, formerly Mars Hill, will open at 3 p.m. Sunday for a family-friendly Super Bowl party in the old Everett Armory building. The game will be shown on three huge HD projector screens. There will be live music and refreshments. Alcohol and abusive language won’t be allowed. A live band will replace the broadcast halftime show and will play country music and other songs. Foundation Church is at 2730 Oakes Ave., Everett.
North Sound Church: Has scheduled two Super Sunday Tailgate Celebration services at the Edmonds Conference Center, 201 Fourth Ave. N. in downtown Edmonds. Fans will gather at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., and following each service volunteers will serve bacon and eggs or hot dogs. Everyone is urged to wear Seahawk colors. These events are not Super Bowl viewings.
