EVERETT — The Navy is conducting a security exercise from Feb. 2-13, and people may see signs of activity in and around Naval Station Everett.
Solid Curtain-Citadel Shield is an annual readiness exercise held at naval installations across the country.
In Everett, the gates to the base will be closed on Feb. 5 and Feb. 11 between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
At other times, people are likely to experience heavier traffic near the base, and workers, commuters and visitors to the base are asked to be flexible when it comes to scheduling meetings or visits on the base.
Naval Station Everett spokeswoman Kristin Ching said people near the base might also see increased activity on the base property as part of the exercises, such as personnel running or simulated emergency response drills.
