OLYMPIA — The Washington state House has approved a spending bill on items requiring immediate attention, from natural disasters to social services.
The supplemental budget passed 83-15 by the House Thursday morning sends money to cover the costs attached to fighting last year’s wildfires in eastern Washington and the deadly landslide that wiped away homes in Oso. It also pays to expand mental-health treatment capacity and to cover a larger-than-expected load of child abuse cases, and pays off a lawsuit the state lost over in-home care workers.
The supplemental budget now moves to the Senate for approval before it goes to Gov. Jay Inslee.
